Scouts Guild

The Scouts Guild has guildhalls and members across the known world. Only those who are high ranked in the Guild know just how many members they have or where they travel. Most of the guildhalls are hidden from non-members. Those who seek to investigate this Guild are often ‘discouraged’, unless they seek entry to the Guild. The scouts are always interested in obtaining information on and knowledge of the lands and peoples of Erdreja. This is achieved through a network of Guild members who report back to the Grandmaster Scout.

"The Scouts Guild categorically denies any involvement in assassinations or contracts to kill people."
- Unnamed Scouts enforcer discouraging questions into Guild activity.

Trackers, Navigators, Pathfinders, Trailblazers, call them what you will. The Scouts Guild has always had something of an individual cause and attitude to the dealings of Erdreja. The Guild has always concerned itself with the more nefarious dealings of Erdreja. The old adage of setting a thief to catch a thief, could form part of the Guild philosophy, if it does not already.
The Guild was founded in its modern form, when the existing Scouts, Thieves & Stewards Guilds were amalgamated by the Lycanthrope known as Lord Cannis in 1098. Before this, each of the three Guilds had acted independently, and each had held a seat upon the Guild Council. Afterwards it was claimed that the Thieves & Stewards Guilds had been constructed as elaborate smoke screens to prevent the Militia looking into the dealings of the late Grandmaster Scout Sordelan.

In recent times, the Scouts Guild has continued to pursue the disciplines of the three Guilds from which it draws its roots. These are information, theft and assassination. Working closely with the Militia, the Guild operates to regulate illegal activities and to defend the hierarchies of the Heartland nations from such underhand attacks. Indeed in many respects the Scouts Guild can be seen as one of the chief caretakers of the peace of the Gathering Treaty.
It is said that the Scouts maintain a presence within all of the major cities and towns in the Heartlands. One ear listens to the words of the nobles, and the other is kept firmly on the ground to hear the word of the people. The Guild is a cold brotherhood, its members adhering to secret laws and traditions that grant them rights and privileges within the organisation, as well as the specialised training of their chosen craft.

The Scouts Guild is the ideal place to find what you want or gain anything you might need. If they don't have it, they know a player who might.. They also give you the chance to learn some of the skills used by the Guild for yourself, using the Lorien Trust Role Playing Occupational Skill Points System or OSP's.
