The Alchemist GuildAlchemist

The purpose of the Alchemists Guild is to facilitate the practice of alchemy, by spreading the knowledge of alchemy, maintaining a network training and production facilities, and supplying alchemical ingredients to guild members. The guild has achieved great success in spreading the knowledge of alchemy. However, we are conscious of the need to conserve supplies of alchemical ingredients, so do not be surprised if prices fluctuate from time to time; indeed, sometimes we may have to withhold the supply of some ingredients until supplies recover. We do somewhat regard ourselves as temporary custodians of our world. Our network of alchemical labs is second to none, we will always strive to allow a guild member access to them. All that we ask is that you clear up after any explosions, always label any dangerous concoctions and do not pour your failed potions onto the herb garden.

Qui Gon DeBeer - Grand Master Alchemist

Qui Gon hails from the Great Forest, in the dark and beautiful lands of Teutonia.  A devout Priest of Wotan, his skill in alchemy was learned rather than something with which he was gifted.  For a long time, he could not grasp the idea of making potions and in fact this was something he became well known for within guild circles. He originally joined the guild over a decade ago, and soon gained rank along with a reputation for his slightly unusual dealings.  During his early years with the guild he spent much time dodging death squads from his own faction, as his forthright views and brusque manner often caused offence to those in power.  Eventually, his antagonists were executed by the Vipers and his life settled down again.  He returned to concentrate on his Guild duties, rising quickly within the Guild until eventually reaching the rank of Guild Master. Much of what he does is still a secret from many, but he advocates the guild openly selling poisons (for use in getting rid of vermin only, of course!), and can be found most days breaking or blowing something up in the labs with his unusual experiments.  His view are still outspoken and extreme, but he is a staunch patron of those who wish to fulfil their potential.

Kallem Spiritsong - Master Alchemist

Not much is commonly known about Kallem’s past, however it is clear that having studied closely under former Grand Master Timeon for many years at Stormcrow, his private research facility, deep within the Northern Wastes, he was an obvious choice to support the laboratory operations.  He was soon established as an effective and capable Master of the Laboratories, bringing a subtle blend of skill to those who wished to learn and threats of pain of death for anyone who messed up his laboratories. He then went on to take over the responsibility of matters of Guild Lore, Knowledge and Diplomacy and entrusted his beloved laboratories to Grand Master Reck. Whilst not immediately an obvious candidate for the role, Kal slowly began to develop a flare for the art, assisting in many sensitive negotiations, including a unified Guild Charter along with the re-establishment of a Gathering Treaty.  It was during these negotiations that Kal, unbeknown to himself, met his wife to be, Driftwood of the Mages Guild.  Both Driftwood and Kal shared in common a business like drive to achieve similar goals and this frequently involved them adopting similar negotiating positions within the bar……

The insight of both Grand Master QuiGon and Grand Master Reck and the cunning of Master Nighshade eventually saw Driftwood and Kal presented to each other for marriage under Guild Law, much, initially, to both their surprise.  Since then Kal and Drift have formed inseparable bonds and are frequently seen working together to further support of the guilds within the factions.
