No Effect' Rules.

To use a special item or power you must have an official signed and stamped Lorien Trust laminated card. These cards must be carried with you at all times during time in. If you attempt to use an item or special power and cannot produce the appropriate card when asked to do so by a referee, the item or power you are trying to use will have no effect. Cards that are attached to a weapon intended for use in any form of combat must be placed so that there is no risk of out of character damage to either the user of the weapon or their opponents.

The powers listed on a special item card cannot be used unless the card is attached to an appropriate phys. rep. The phys. rep. must bear a reasonable resemblance to the item it is supposed to represent (for example a mace cannot be used as a phys. rep. for an enchanted sword). Phys. reps. of weapons intended for use in any form of combat must comply with all Lorien Trust regulations and safety standards. If you do not have a suitable, safe phys. rep. you will not be allowed to use your item.

Special powers that have an area effect, such as mass fear, cannot be used except in the presence of a referee. If there is no referee present, the special power will not work.

The Spirit of the Game.

All participants at Lorien Trust events are requested to uphold the spirit, not just the letter, of the rules. Referees can only make decisions based on the information at hand; if they feel it is necessary they will consult with a senior referee before making a decision. Once a referee has made a decision it is final and binding. The ultimate aim of live role playingers is to have fun. role playing a character in such a way as to deliberately upset others out of character is not within the spirit of the rules. The Lorien Trust would like to ask all participants to leave out of character disagreements with other people outside the game.
